SURRY HILLS — A man who booked tickets after seeing "fun bottomless brunch" on Instagram has told venue staff he was "caught off guard" by drag performances, same-sex couples holding hands, and a chorus of "Yas queen" that he initially mistook for a sports crowd.
Organisers of Mimosas & Misandry pointed to the event name, the $42 drink package, and the poster featuring three performers in full face as evidence the occasion might not be a heterosexual agricultural show.
Witnesses say the man nevertheless stayed for the full two hours, tipped generously, and was later seen adding the DJ to his Close Friends story under the caption "vibes."
